Family travel can be an exciting and adventurous especially during the Christmas season when the kids will be on vacation. Christmas is a great time to experience the best of whichever destination you wish to visit because every city or town has its different and peculiar Christmas tradition.

Do you enjoy building sand castles or snowmen with your kids or simply engaging in indoor games and activities? Vacation activities are limitless but here are 5 unique and unique activities to engage in with your family to create magical memories this Christmas.

  1. COOKING

A Christmas tradition that cuts across all cultures of the world is cooking. This activity brings the whole family together to a sense of team work, love and family bonding time. It is also a great opportunity to learn how to prepare the local meals of your host city. It could sometimes get messy, that I assure you but it’s all part of the fun. So whether you’re preparing a feast at home or signing up for a cooking class, by all means COOK!

  1. DOLPHIN WATCH

It is really difficult to ascertain if it is the ancient mysticism attached to dolphins that makes them so magical or its their friendly nature. You can expect them to put on a show by breaching the water and showing off their acrobatic moves. Dolphins are incredibly intelligent, delightfully playful and able to inspire happiness in anyone who sees or swims with them. Not to worry there are experience staff on the boat to guide you and of course your kids will be on life jackets. Remembering the experience that comes with dolphin watching tour is a good thing but keep a memento to cherish forever is simply the best. It can be a very long ride so if you have children with you, make sure that they are well-rested before the trip to enjoy it more and remember to take snacks along.

In visiting a new city, it is important to learn about their culture and heritage so it could be a good time to visit the museum with your family. You can also engage in a paint and sip activity, clay pot molding or paper craft for Christmas decorations because this enhances family bonding and brings out the creativity in your kids and you as well. You may never know what secret talents you have, so unleash the inner Picasso.

Take the family on a tour to see the intriguing lights, decorations and fireworks on Christmas Eve. It’s a good idea to take a walk around the city and take the opportunity to do some shopping because who doesn’t love to shop. You can buy clothes, artifacts, anything memorable you can lay your hands on. Also remember to go to the city centre at Midnight to shout MERRY CHRISTMAS along with everyone. The joy that comes with it is exhilarating.

This should be at the top of my list but what did they say about saving the best for last. Going for a Christmas vacation is the perfect time to make memories and what better way to express this than to take a family photo. Buy Christmas outfits a, especially the funny ones. Get creative on your photoshoot. You can get a photographer and stylist to assist you. Just have fun with it.
